How the Rim Compares

The price buys the South Rim, the actual national park, at an hour of day no other listing here reaches. It is worth knowing what a West Rim ticket looks like by comparison: Grand Canyon West sells its own All-Access Pass at $99 per person, which covers the Skywalk, the zipline, the Hualapai guided tours and the shuttle between viewpoints on tribal land. That is a different canyon experience at a different rim, about 2 hours 15 minutes closer to Las Vegas each way.

Overnight Pickup and the Long Drive

You board at one of nine hotels, from Circus Circus and The STRAT downtown to Excalibur, Park MGM and The Venetian on the Strip. In April through August pickup runs 10 PM to midnight. From September to March it shifts an hour later, 11 PM to 1 AM.

The South Rim at Grand Canyon Village sits about 276 miles away, roughly 5 hours 19 minutes of driving on a routing engine with no stops, and the route adds meal and rest stops, so the run to the rim eats most of the night.

Sunrise at the South Rim and Lipan Point

The first main stop is the South Rim itself, for a 40-minute sunrise visit with a guided walk and scenic views. This is the whole point of the overnight start: you see the canyon open before the day buses from Arizona towns arrive. The tour then moves 40 minutes down the road to Lipan Point, a viewpoint on Desert View Drive known for wide sightlines, for another photo and sightseeing stop.

Two rim stops, 80 minutes total at the canyon. The South Rim sits at 7,000 ft, so it is much cooler than Las Vegas at that hour.

Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell

The drive continues east to Page, Arizona, for the second half of the day. Antelope Canyon gets 80 minutes, as a guided visit on foot, and Lower Antelope Canyon involves stairs and narrow walkways. Horseshoe Bend follows with a full hour of walking and sightseeing.

A 20-minute photo stop at Lake Powell closes the sightseeing. One clock note: Arizona does not observe daylight saving, so from March to early November the Grand Canyon clock matches Las Vegas, and from November to March Arizona runs one hour ahead. Antelope Canyon follows Navajo time, which works the other way round.

The Drive Back

After Lake Powell the vehicle turns west for the long return to Las Vegas, with drop-off at the same nine hotels. Expect to be back about 18 hours after pickup, which on a summer booking means late afternoon or evening of the same calendar day. The listing notes that itineraries are subject to change.

Age, Health and Mobility Limits
